BFA THESIS

My BFA thesis explores the experience of living in an increasingly technological world and how digital systems shape memory, perception, and human connection. Focusing on the relationship between technology and life, and photography and memory, the project examines how technology can preserve moments while gradually becoming substitutes for the experiences themselves.

Through a series of graphic design works, I use layered imagery, fragmented photographs, experimental typography, and maximalist compositions to reflect the visual complexity and information overload of contemporary life. Rather than offering direct answers, the work encourages viewers to pause, explore, and form their own interpretations, creating an emotional experience that evokes nostalgia, curiosity, familiarity, and uncertainty while questioning the role technology plays in shaping how we remember and experience the world.

magazine revamp

This project was completed as part of my Graphic Design V course in 2026. Over the course of the semester, students were tasked with redesigning a magazine originally published before 1985, preserving its original editorial content while reimagining its visual identity through a contemporary design approach. The final publication consisted of 40 pages, including both the front and back covers.

For this project, I selected an official Alien (1979) magazine centered on Ridley Scott's landmark science fiction film. The publication's text-heavy content presented the challenge of creating a clear visual hierarchy while integrating engaging graphic elements without overwhelming the reader. The redesign focused on balancing typography, imagery, and layout to produce a modern publication that remains faithful to the original content while offering a refreshed reading experience.

The project emphasized research, strategic design, client communication, and presenting solutions that balanced the firm's long-standing history with a modern, approachable visual identity while meeting real-world client objectives.

Museum Branding Project

This project was completed as part of my Graphic Design III course, where students selected a museum and developed a comprehensive rebranding campaign. I chose the Museum of Illusions Chicago, creating a refreshed visual identity that included a new logo, business cards, product packaging, and a promotional poster. The project focused on building a cohesive brand system through research, visual storytelling, and design solutions that reflected the museum’s interactive experience.
